Privacy policy

What we keep

• Your account: email address, name, language and country.
• Profiles: a first name or nickname, a colour and, for a child, an age band. No email, birth date or photo of a child.
• What you make: briefs, scripts, audio, covers and the sources you give us.
• What you listen to: positions, queue and history, per profile, kept in your account only.
• Daily briefings: the settings of the briefing, and what it reads to make the episode.

Why, and on what basis

To provide the service you asked for (contract), to keep it secure and working (legitimate interest), and with your consent where it is required, such as a parent's choice to turn on voice search on a kid profile.

Who receives it

Data is hosted in the EU where the provider allows it. We use these processors, only to provide the service, and they do not train models on your content:

• Cloudflare: hosting, database and storage.
• Anthropic and OpenAI: writing scripts, reading documents and photos, drawing covers.
• ElevenLabs and Inworld: voices and sounds.
• Deepgram: transcribing voice search, which is not stored.
• MET Norway: weather, from rounded city coordinates only.

On adult profiles, podcast search asks Apple's directory directly, so Apple receives your search terms, your country and your device's IP address. Kid profiles search only our own kids catalogue.

How long we keep it

• Sign-in sessions: deleted 30 days after they end. Sign-in links and PIN attempts: after a day.
• Original source files: 30 days. Photos for characters: deleted right after they are read.
• Deleted episodes: 30 days. Older audio of a regenerated episode: 7 days. Cached voice clips: 60 days without use.
• Daily briefing episodes: 30 days. Forwarded emails: 7 days, stored encrypted.
• Security logs: 400 days, then archived.
• Backups: up to 12 weeks.

Your finished episodes stay as long as you keep them and your account.

Children

A child has no account. A kid profile lives in an adult's account, with no ads and no tracking. Only a first name or nickname, a colour and an age band are stored.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, portability, or object to a processing, by writing to hello@soundko.com. You can complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
